Welcome, I am Jemmima.

Thank you for visiting Willow Counselling's site.

I understand counselling is sometimes viewed with scepticism, or as a last resort for life's challenges. This social stigma can hinder people from accessing support during difficult times. Counselling can provide a safe, non-judgemental, space for you to talk freely.

I am passionate about counselling and psychology, and believe that talking
can help us to fully understand our emotions, reducing their hold over
our minds, and improving the future.

I offer in-person individual counselling for adults (18+). Sessions can also be held online.

I also offer outdoor sessions for adult individuals, to benefit from natures impact on our minds and bodies.
About
Approach
I utilise an eclectic person-centred approach.

Person-centred therapy is a talking therapy founded by Carl Rogers in the 1940's, based on the ethos that you are the best expert of your life experiences and feelings. It is rooted in empathy, congruence (truthfulness), and unconditional positive regard, creating a safe space to explore thoughts, and process issues with a non-judgemental, and non-directive therapist. This enables you to gain self-awareness and achieve positive change, without the ridicule you may have received from friends, family, or colleagues.

Eclectic is when a therapist uses techniques from other approaches.
I achieved qualifications in various therapeutic approaches enabling me
to tailor the session to meet your
needs at that moment in time.

Ethical working is of the utmost importance. Willow Counselling is insured, qualified, and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP), adhering to their ethical framework ensuring the highest levels of ethics and professionalism.
